BMX Project History

BMX emerged in California in the 1960s as an extreme sport.

In the 1970s, the United States established the earliest BMX organization, which is also considered to be the symbol of BMX becoming an official sports event.

In April 1981, the International BMX Alliance was formally established, and European powers began to have professional training and BMX clubs.

In 1982, the first World BMX Championship was held.

In 1993, BMX officially became a member of the cycling family.

In June 2003, the International Olympic Committee identified BMX as the official event of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

At the beginning of 2004, BMX was established as a sub-item of my country's bicycle project, and the training was officially launched.

In 2005, BMX made its debut at the Games of the People's Republic of China. On April 28, the 2005 National Cycling BMX (BMX) Championship was held in Shenzhen.

In 2006, the first Asian Cycling BMX Championship was held in Taiyuan.

In May 2008, the 2008 International Cycling Union BMX (BMX) World Championship was held in Taiyuan;In August, the BMX was officially unveiled at the Beijing Olympic Games.

In November 2010, BMX was included in the official competition of the Asian Games for the first time.

In June 2017, the International Olympic Committee announced the BMX Park Race as an official event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
